IUM to Start Training Pharmacist Assistants
The IUM Faculty of Health Sciences in partnership with the Pharmaceutical Society of Namibia will start offering a two-year (2) Certificate programme in Pharmacist Assistants in the Academic Year 2018. The aim is to guarantee optimal pharmaceutical care and services in Namibia and beyond.
Pharmacist assistants trained at IUM will work as part of a pharmacy team under the direction of a qualified and registered pharmacist. They will thus be trained to assist Pharmacists in their daily duties.
The programme which will consist of both theory and practice will be taught by registered pharmacists from the Pharmaceutical Society of Namibia.
Prospective students must be already employed in credible pharmacies to enable them to carry out their practicals under the effective supervision of a qualified pharmacist.
